Serviced Between Every Hire
Machines go from the low-loader to the workshop, not back onto the line. Oil, coolant, hydraulic level and condition, filters, track tension, pins and bushes, hoses, quick hitch function, lights, beacons and cut-outs are all checked against a written sheet, and anything worn is replaced before the machine goes out again. Greasing is done by hand at every point rather than sprayed in the general direction of the boom. The completed sheet is dated, signed and handed over with the machine, so the hirer knows exactly what was checked and when.
Delivered Before You Start
Our own low-loaders and beavertails deliver from six in the morning so that a machine is standing on site before the crew arrives rather than at eleven when half the day is gone. Delivery within the ring road is included in the rate; beyond it there is a published per-kilometre charge rather than a figure invented at invoicing. Collection happens on the day you finish, including Saturdays, and we do not charge for the day of collection if the machine is ready by nine.
Attachments That Fit
Every excavator goes out with the buckets the job actually needs — trenching widths, a grading bucket and a ditching bucket — on the correct hitch, with pins, retaining clips and a spare set of grease nipples. Breakers, augers, compaction plates, grabs, rippers and tilt hitches are matched to the machine's weight and flow so nothing is under-powered or over-stressed, and hoses and couplers are checked under pressure before loading. Nobody arrives on site to discover the attachment does not fit the hitch.
A Real Handover
Every hirer gets a walk-round: controls and pattern selection, quick hitch locking and the check that proves it is locked, safe working slopes, service and transport positions, refuelling, daily greasing, isolators and what to do if a hose bursts. Private hirers get longer and are shown how to dig a trench without undermining the machine. Written instructions and a laminated daily-check card stay in the cab, and our workshop answers the phone during the hire.
Breakdown Cover That Turns Up
If a machine stops through a fault, an engineer is on site the same day and a replacement is delivered if the repair will take longer than four hours. Hire time stops from the moment the machine goes down, and no hirer has ever been charged for a fault that was not their doing. The service van carries hoses, couplers, filters, belts, fuses and a spare set of tracks, which fixes the majority of failures on site rather than after a return to the yard.
Prices Without Surprises
Day, weekend, week and month rates are published for every machine and attachment, with the weekend priced as a single day and the month at roughly two and a half weeks. Fuel goes out full and comes back full with no handling fee, delivery is included locally, and damage waiver is optional rather than compulsory. Anything charged after the hire — a broken tooth, a torn hose, a bent bucket — is quoted with a photograph and the trade cost of the part before it appears on an invoice.
